The competition will be delivered across two age groups:
15 June - Years 5-6
16 June - Years 7-8
Teams may include up to 14 players, with a balanced lineup of 7 boys and 7 girls.
Designed as a fun and inclusive event, each day will run from 9:00am to 2:00pm, with games played in two 7-minute halves. There is no entry fee, making it easy for everyone to get involved and enjoy the experience.
Food and refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the day. Tag belts will be provided for all games, so participants simply need to bring their enthusiasm and team spirit.
A trophy will be awarded to the winning team, rounding out what promises to be an exciting and memorable two days of sport.

Bringing Rugby to the Classroom and Playground
The Rebels Rugby Academy partners with schools across Byron Shire to make rugby fun, safe, and accessible for students of all ages. With qualified, WWC-certified coaches, all equipment provided, and flexible programs designed to fit your timetable, we make it easy for schools to introduce rugby through PE, sport, or lunchtime activities. Our approach is safe, inclusive, and values-driven — supported by Rugby NSW and focused on building confidence, teamwork, and respect.
What We Offer
1. In-School Coaching
Accredited coaches deliver structured, age-appropriate sessions focused on skills, safety, and fun. Options include non-contact Rugby Tag, intro-to-rugby programs, and girls’ development sessions. We bring everything needed — you just provide the space.
2. School Tournaments & Gala Days
We help schools prepare for and participate in rugby events, offering coaching beforehand and hands-on support on the day to boost confidence and school spirit.
3. Pathways Beyond School
Students who enjoy rugby can continue with the Rebels Rugby Academy through weekly training, holiday camps, and representative opportunities. Our partnership with Rohrig Construction also provides career and apprenticeship pathways for older students.
